Playforms

Rhodes Recreation Centre

Rationale

Playforms | City of Canada Bay Council, Rhodes Recreation Centre

Playforms is a set of 12 dynamic and colourful sculptural pictograms of activities at the Rhodes Recreation Centre. Inspired by the Sydney 2000 Olympic’s pictograms and the Utzon tapestry at the Sydney Opera House, Playforms bring together graphic elements and forms that add movement and colour to the centre.

The pictograms are surrounded by flora patterns and organic shapes adhered to the wall in the background to enhance the floating pictograms.

Pictogram activities include; Yoga, Weights, Spin Bike, Netball, Futsal, Basketball, WHeel Chair Pickle Ball, Badminton, Gymnastics, Tumbling, and Crèche.

Playforms responds beautifully to the Rhodes Recreation Centre’s vision of ‘Play, Perform, Reflect, Repeat!’.
